We need a superstar to: 

  • Execute a people lens across the business. Look to develop, implement, improve and administer strategies, policies and programs covering all aspects of people Management.

  • Attract, develop and retention of talent, ensuring NZM is a market-leading employer and positioning NZM as a ‘talent magnet’ for the primary sector.

  • Be a trusted advisor to the Senior Management team, working alongside them to execute against the NZM strategy – providing a people lens and foreseeing resourcing needs.

  • Coach, develop and support managers to increase effective employee communication, feedback and recognition.

  • Manage Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W) for NZM, including regular reporting at staff meetings, managing the hazard/incident register, plus leading the HS &W team at quarterly meetings.

  • Work with managers to identify and support future leaders, providing L&D and other opportunities to grow at NZM.



What skills, experiences and attitudes are needed 

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant HR qualification and thrive on bringing great ideas to life in a dynamic, high energy team.

Taking a hands-on approach you encourage continuous improvement and have proven experience influencing and coaching others. Your innovative approach will be complemented by your ability to be curious and to juggle multiple priorities while finding the right solution.  Unafraid of change and challenge, your expertise will be supported by an approach that is positive, collaborative and adaptable.

You will have the ‘x factor’ when it comes to building credible relationships across the entire team,  and a clear passion for people providing an empathetic approach to solutions and change management.  An authentic leadership style and strong communication skills will be a must, while also able to be agile and adaptive.
