Te Hono – Connecting and Accelerating New Zealand’s Food & Fibre Sector

The Role 

Te Hono has a great opportunity for an intermediate level Communications Advisor to take charge in this dynamic role. You will design, deliver and evaluate a range of communication and engagement activities for the Te Hono alumni network, New Zealand and abroad. 

​

The key to this role is connecting with and fostering positive relationships amongst an influential group of New Zealand’s leadership. Your talent and energy applied in this area will be used to gather insights, and create stories of business acumen, innovation, leadership and environmental stewardship. Using various channels to share these stories to create a sense of community with our alumni. 

​

Reporting to the Te Hono General Manager, this role will also provide general support, where required and covid dependent, with Te Hono events including the annual flagship event at Stanford University, national conference, other regional events and virtual events. 

 

The Person 

To be successful in this role, you will be creative, credible and bring innovative ideas to the table. The role needs someone who is passionate about building relationships, who is inquisitive with a natural curiosity. The nature of our business means you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be results driven. 

 

You will: 

  • have proven experience in a similar role involving a combination of internal, external and digital communications. 

  • have good experience designing, developing and delivering communications plans. 

  • be a natural at copywriting for different audiences and channels. 

  • have excellent administrative and time management skills, be knowledgeable with MS suite of applications and digital savvy. 

  • enjoy task variety, deadline driven and have a meticulous attention to detail. 

  • preferably have some experience organising and helping at events (noting that this a support function, where required) and not afraid to get stuck in and help out. 

 

With stakeholder service at the heart of all that we do, your interpersonal and communication skills must be exemplary.
